I am a certified yoga instructor, and I teach Christian yoga. Frequently, I will talk about Christian yoga on my blog, and I recieve e-mails asking all about it. Since practicing Christian yoga is a pretty new concept to many people, I thought I would share some thoughts on it here.
Christian yoga is all about Jesus, all of the time. I truly believe that God created us mind, body, and spirit; and we are to worship Him through every aspect of our being. Christian yoga worships Jesus; it is a tool to help us learn how to be still before our Maker, and meditate on His love, His grace, and His beauty.
2 Corinthians 3:17 says, "For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." That is what Christian yoga is all about: moving our bodies, and our hearts to be present before the Spirit; being still, knowing that He is God, and finding complete and utter freedom in that fact.
Christian yoga is used as a tool to help usher us into the relentless love of Jesus, and to find ourselves moving and breathing in His presence.
Like I mentioned before, I write frequently about Christian yoga on my blog, so please check back for posts on this topic. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
